What is Nutritional Counseling?

When we try to restore your health with nutrition and other natural therapies we are working with the body's biochemistry. The most basic and sometimes the most effective therapy is your diet. Many people don't make the connection between their day to day habits and the symptoms they suffer.

Poor health, weight issues, and most chronic diseases are the result of inadequate nutrition, improper digestion or stress. My goal as a nutrition and wellness counselor is to help you identify the areas in your diet and lifestyle that could be negatively affecting your health and to provide you with clear instruction, guidance, and support to help you make the changes you need to attain an optimal state of wellness. Many people can benefit from working with a nutritionist, for many different reasons - whether you need a complete diet overhaul, are looking to manage a medical condition, want to fine-tune your food choices, or eat for sports performance. We will work together to help you build up a strong foundation of health and achieve your goals.

The following are a few of the conditions that can benefit specifically from dietary interventions:

  • Heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • Issues with cholesterol
  • Allergies
  • Diabetes and pre-diabetic conditions
  • Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  • Celiac disease
  • Obesity or overweight
  • Pregnancy
  • Eating Disorders
  • Arthritis
  • And many other Chronic Disease and Illness

You will be amazed that with simple lifestyle changes and a new attitude toward food you can help improve your symptoms.

The decision to get rid of chronic health problems, prevent disease, and improve the quality of your life begins with fundamental improvements in your diet and other aspects of your lifestyle. A proper diet provides your body with the raw materials (vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals) to begin to detoxify and heal itself. This will be the foundation of your nutritional program. Basic nutrition is an important first ‐ step on the road to health.
